Pukerau School

Since becoming an Enviroschool in 2006, Pukerau School have taken action to reduce their waste and help look after the environment for future generations.  The students formed NET - Nature and Environment Team - and decided to focus on food scraps and built their own worm farm.

Lochiel School

While studing waste in 2006, students at Lochiel school became aware that a lot of the items they put out in the rubbish could have been recycled, reused or composted.  The first action the students took was to record how many rubbish bins the school had and where they were located.  There investigations found that for every three students there was one rubbish bin.  So the children and staff took action.
