Delete the data from your phone or remove the SIM card

Disconnect the phone from the network (contact your network supplier to do this)

What happens to it?

If the phone is in working order it could be donated to local non-profit organisation who are working in 3rd world countries.

Non working phones are recycled into new products such as copper piping and road cones.
