Reuse

There are a number of alternative uses for ice cream containers:

  • Ice cream containers are an excellent storage device - crayons, pens, buttons, water bowl for pets, lunch box, nuts and bolts
  • The lid can be used to make ornaments, coasters, decorations
  • Tape together several lids (white side out) and make into your own personal whiteboard
  • A kitchen caddy for your food scraps.  At the end of the day (or when full) empty the container into your larger compost bin

 

Recycle

Plastic ice cream containers can be recycled.

How do I recycle it?
  • Clean and dry
  • Lids removed and placed in landfill bin
  • Containers not to be flattened
