Reduce

There are a number of alternative products to disposable plates

  • Potato or corn starch plates can be disposed of in your compost bin or worm farm
  • Use normal plates and cutlery
  • Hosting a party and don't have enough plates? Ask your guest to bring their own plates

Recycle

  • Paper plates can be recycled through your compost bin.  (Note paper plates with a waxy coating may not compost very well).
  • Plastic plates can be recycle by Southland disAbility Enterprises.  Don't forget to wash and dry the plate before recycling.
