Corrugated iron is a ferrous metal. Research indicates that 5 percent of the 55 tonnes per week of metal buried annual in the Southland regional landfill is ferrous metal.

Corrugated iron can be recycled by taking it to your local scrap metal agent or transfer station. If the iron is in bad condition or rusting it is still accepted at Transfer Stations.
