Public Holiday Collections
Recycling and rubbish collections will be one day later than usual after a public holiday, with some exceptions.
Collection day changes for Good Friday, 2 April 2021
Invercargill City, Gore and Southland District residents please be advised there will be no kerbside recycling and rubbish collections on Good Friday. These collections will take place on Saturday 3 April.
Collection day changes for Easter, 5-10 April 2021
Bluff, Invercargill, Mataura and Gore residents please be advised recycling and rubbish collections will be one day later than usual to observe Easter Monday public holiday on Monday 5 April.

Remember all mobile bins need to be placed out on time, as collection trucks may be earlier than usual. All collections will return to normal on Monday 12 April.
Southland District Council kerbside recycling and rubbish collections are not affected and will be operating as normal for the week 5-10 April.
Exceptions to the day later rule
- Southland District Council recycling and rubbish collections operate as normal on the following public holidays: Waitangi Day, Easter Monday, Queens Birthday, Labour Day.
- Private recycling, rubbish and greenwaste collections - contact your service provided to ask about their holiday schedules.
