Green Drinks "Sustainable Buildings" (Public Talk) - Thursday 28 October 5.30-7.30pm
Green Drinks theme for this month is "Sustainable Buildings". Guest speakers will cover topics such as what you need to consider when thinking about solar hot water heating, maximising passive solar gain, energy efficiency in your home and greywater systems. You will also hear about Southland's entry into the national Sustainable Habitat Challenge, having an opportunity to check out the latest design and meet with those who have created it.

Southern Success Stories in Sustainable Business (Public Talk) - 7pm Monday 1st November
Steve Henry from Otago Polytechnic Centre of Sustainable Practice will be giving a public talk in Invercargill. This is an opportunity to be inspired by some of Otago's sucess stories such as forming NZ's first biodiesel consortium in Queenstown. Hear Steve who's based in Wanaka talk about how 140 businesses have now participated in successful business programmes in Otago. You will also get to hear about Otago Polytechnic's new sustainable practice courses.

eDay Clean up NZ's computer waste - 9am to 3pm Saturday 6 November 2010
eDay is a drive-through recycling event which gives you the opportunity to recycle old computers or mobile phones in an environmentally sound way. eDay 2010 is taking place on Saturday 6 November at over 40 centres across the Country.
You can dispose of - computer hardware | monitors | networking equipment (eg modem, routers, hubs) | scanners | keyboards, mice, speakers | laptops | printers | game consoles | toner and ink jet cartridges | mobile phones | fax machines | digital cameras.
