Clean Up Southland started in the late 1990's when local Councils signed up as partners to Clean Up the World.  Over a decade later, Clean Up Southland has become an annual tradition with groups actively picking up rubbish from all round Southland during the third week of September.

Clean Up Southland 2010 will take place over the week of 17-24 September.  The campaign brings together community groups, businesses, schools, local Councils and individuals in a range of activities and events to raise public awareness of littering and the impact of rubbish on our environment.
